Marine Education Project:

Chile es Mar


Held on Monday, April 8 at the Centro Cultural Mistral (GAM) in Santiago, Chile, the seminar, Chile es Mar was the first step in the development of a robust marine education program that aims to raise awareness of Chile’s relationship with the ocean.   In support of this cause, globally recognized champions of marine conservation, Juan Carlos Castilla, the recipient of the 2010 National (Chile) Award for Applied Science and Technology, and Julie Packard, the Executive Director of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Julie Packard, addressed a crowd of more than 250 people.
