Despite being in different hemispheres, Chile and California have much in common: a long coastline on the Pacific Ocean, fertile central valleys, and a mountain range whose snows and glaciers irrigate in spring the meadows and crops. They share the great benefits of their similar geography, as well as the same challenges that a changing world presents at increasing rates, in a scenario of unprecedented climate crisis.
The Chile-California Council (CCC) seeks to enhance private-public work through systemic processes and a “Transformation & Climate Action” pipeline. For the times our planet faces, integrating these topics through science, technology, policy and finance, allows the CCC to promote collective improvements through a unique neutral lens, that brings efforts from all sectors together.
For the development of the programs, the CCC has a unique configuration that allows to deliver broad impact. The government has major involvement and access within the civil society, thanks to the Councilors of the CCC, and vice-versa, the Councilors have the possibility for greater public incidence and impact, thanks to the support received since 2012 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
