Climate Policies: Lessons Learned and Future Challenges

Climate Policies: Lessons Learned and Future Challenges

On Monday, December 9, with the participation of congressmen, high commissioners of the Energy sector, and representatives of the private energy sector of California, was held the third event organized by the Chile-California Council. The purpose of this panel is to provide a narrative of what California has done to address climate mitigation and adaptation that could be adopted by other jurisdictions. It is not intended to be a debate about CA climate policy, but a menu of potential options for other jurisdictions to pick and choose from. Additionally, explaining what CA needs to do next will help showcase the need for ever increasing climate ambition. We had a great lineup of speakers, including Katelyn Roedner Sutter from EDF (Environment Defense Fund), Caroline Choi from Edison International, California State Senator Bob Wieckowski, Andrew McAllister from the California Energy Commission, Daniel Kammen professor from UC Berkeley and Wade Crowfoot from the Natural Resources Agency.
