Nature Conservation: Why it is important
Sustainable management and conservation of land is extremely relevant in the battle of climate change, the recovery of biodiversity and the restoration of degraded ecosystems and resources on which humanity depends on.
We seek to bring together the experiences between Chile and California in this area by articulating efforts from public and private actors, territorial organizations, philanthropy networks, and the scientific community toward exploring and promoting nature-based solutions, tools and initiatives for terrestrial conservation.
One of our guiding principles is the importance of traditional activities for the development of economies led by local communities. Chile and California have cultivated an important relationship on this matter, holding a series of exchange conferences between key actors from both regions, led by Councilors and sponsored by the CCC.
